How I rekindled my love of Art after many years of not drawing a thing. I love dragons and fairies, and anything fantasy really!

Lips, lips and more lips. It’s all fine and dandy to be able to draw things straight on. If I want to be really good, I need to be able to draw things on angles too!

Day 22 – 30 Days of Art

More hair today! Here is a little video of me in action. I was waiting for my son to finish play group. Luckily I bought my iPad and journal with me! I’m loving hair, it takes time and concentration but it’s very rewarding when you have the finished product! Ignore the sound, kids were playing, cars were coming in and out and women were yapping!

Day 21 – 30 Days of Art

HAIR! I’ve started learning about how to draw hair! It’s much harder than it looks and with limited supplies it is even harder to try and get the realism effect. However, I think for me first try it was a great attempt. My favourite is probably the bun. I know her ear is too small but I’m chuffed how my practice went. Again I didn’t have a regency photo to go by. I watched a you tube video and then off I went.

The you tube video I watched was by Emmy Kalia here is the link to her video. https://youtu.be/QRJ5phXy3xo

Day 20 – 30 Days of Art

I love this graphite sketch. It’s one of my favourites so far. I didn’t have a reference photo for this one so I kinda had to wing it. The drawing itself gives the impression of movement so I’ve called this piece ‘Girl Dancing’. She is now available as a print in my etsy store.  https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/ChrissyTurleyArtist

I love to watch the birds in our garden. One of many visitors to our little but beautiful part of paradise.

Day 19 – 30 Days of Art

I get so much inspiration from my lovely kids. They are such a joy to be around. This is my little princess. Again I have lots to work on but I’m getting there! I think I have the proportions right, I just need to refine my skills using graphite. It’s a little clumsy.

The below painting is an autumn tree that I painted a little while ago. I love autumn, it’s my favourite season.

This painting and many more are available in my Etsy Store.

Day 18 – 30 Days of Art

So for Day 18 I’ve done yet more faces. The scribble face is not everyone’s cup of tea, but it is to help loosen up and reduce the need for an eraser. I enjoyed drawing it and trying not to lift my pencil off the paper. I’m now ready to start drawing from pictures. The second face is another face from my imagination.

A poppy I painted a while ago. This and many other paintings and prints are in my Etsy Store. Go check them out!!
