- Carnaby’s Black-Cockatoo (Calyptorhynchus latirostris): This large black-cockatoo is listed as endangered. It is endemic to southwestern Australia and faces threats such as habitat loss, fragmentation, and degradation, as well as competition for nesting hollows.
- Western Ground Parrot (Pezoporus flaviventris): The Western Ground Parrot is critically endangered and one of the rarest parrots in the world. It is found in southwestern Australia and is threatened by habitat loss, fire, and predation by introduced predators.
These are just a few examples, and there are other parrot species in Australia that are also considered vulnerable or near threatened. Conservation efforts are underway to protect and restore their habitats and populations.
